LAND FOR PEACE OR PEACE FOR PEACE

Exactly 20 years ago, Rosh HaShana eve, about 11:30 pm. I was downstairs at Beit Hadassah, near the museum, taking a look at emergency supplies with my friend Uri Karzen, when it started. Massive shooting. Unlike anything we’d heard before.

The Ariel Sharon – Yamit Syndrome June 22, 2001 The Sharon administration can finally be described as having plunged to the depths –  not of the Barak administration, and not of the Netanyahu administration, but rather of the Rabin-Peres administration. In those days it seemed that Rabin-Peres had plummeted about as far down as is humanly possible. Yet it seems […]

Another Day, Another Funeral

Another Day, Another Funeral May 10, 2001 Yesterday, at 7:06 in the morning my beeper started buzzing. The words on the screen were chilling: “Two boys from Tekoa were found dead in a cave in the Judean Desert. There are signs of mutilation on their bodies.” The 2 boys, Kobi Mandell and Yosef Ishran, both 14 years old, were so […]

The Yitzhak Hills

Who comes first?

Who comes first? March 19, 2001 Again, at 6:15 this morning, the pagers started beeping: “A shooting attack near Neve Daniel. One person killed. The entire area is closed off. The “T” Word

The “T” Word January 4, 2001 Barak is to be tossed out of office in just 32 days. Clinton’s Folly ends in half that time.
