LAND FOR PEACE OR PEACE FOR PEACE

Exactly 20 years ago, Rosh HaShana eve, about 11:30 pm. I was downstairs at Beit Hadassah, near the museum, taking a look at emergency supplies with my friend Uri Karzen, when it started. Massive shooting. Unlike anything we’d heard before.
Little did we know that this was the beginning of what’d we’d predicted all along, that is, the Oslo war, otherwise known as the 2nd intifada, which continued for over 2 years. And countless deaths.

Sing We Will

Sing We WillAugust 11, 2003 Shalom. Today is only Monday, and already it’s a difficult week. Yesterday a fifteen year old boy was killed by a Hizballah-shot missile. Haviv Dadon, living in the north Israeli city Shlomi, was the latest victim of Arab warfare against Israel. The Israeli reaction was virtually nil. Par for the course. This morning we were […]

How Many More Ariels?

How Many More Ariels? July 7, 2003 Shalom. Early this afternoon I opened the newspaper and saw a little boy, smiling, wearing a leather helmet on his head, waving at the camera. Happy Hudna

Happy Hudna June 30, 2003 Well folks, peace is at hand. According to some accounts, there are even pessimists who are optimistic. The new-found love between Israeli officers and their palestinian ‘counterparts’ is so apparently visible in the newspaper pictures published today, especially the front page photo of an Israel officer resting his hand on the arm of a uniformed […]

The events included both the expected and the unexpected. The expected: a presentation by State Department official, Dr. David Wurmser, dealing primarily with issues concerning weapons of mass destruction. Of […]
